The Final Sharing of Earthworks!

On Sunday 19th June 2016 the Final Sharing of this years Creative Collaborative Cross Curricular Event; Project Earthworks, took place at The Peoples History Museum, Manchester.

It’s Celebration Time!

Next Sunday 19th June we are Celebrating our Creative Collaborative Project: Project Earthworks at The Peoples History Museum Left Bank, Manchester, Lancashire, M3 3ER. This will be a final sharing of all our hard work from live Drama, Music and Dance Performances, to poetry readings, storytelling and literacy pieces. There will be plenty to watch and do on the day with Art Workshops building Banners, Dig 2016 and 1916 and Movement Workshops.

The project involves work from FPHS Students, All Saints Primary School, Healey Primary School, Bamford Academy, Shawclough Primary School an Heybrook Primary School.

Pupils involved will need to be at The Peoples History Museum at 10.00 – 10.30am ready to rehearse and Parents and Families are welcome to join us from 12.00-2.30pm. The event will be ticketed and tickets are available from FPHS or from the Primary Schools involved.

The Earthworks Project | Digging Deep for Inspiration

  • To look at different aspects, topics and themes that the title Earthworks Project offers in context of each school, class or creative drive.
  • To work in a cross curricular way to produce a final performance or exhibition piece/pieces using: The Arts, Languages, Design Technology, Science, Literacy, Music, Maths, PE and Humanities.

The Structure
This will follow the successful outline of the last three years:

  • September: INSET and Launch of Project at F.P.H.S.
  • January: INSET 2 Inspirations/Workshops
  • April: INSET Final Logistics
  • May/June: Final Sharing
  • There will be support all the way through the project in terms of specialist teacher support, specialist teaching areas, resources, sharing good practice and collaboration

Your Commitment
  • Each school will need to attend at least 2 more INSETs for ideas, planning and logistics. One will be in January and one in March.
  • Last year we had further INSET and as th9is comes along I will let all interested parties know. We are hoping to make stronger links within the local community.
  • In addition most of the work that you and your pupils will carry out for this project will go towards Arts Award Explore and Discover or Bronze. INSET on one afternoon in November is available for schools who may want to know more about this. Also your Primary School could receive recognition through Arts Mark, a prestigious National Award for your school. Again please let me know asap.

  • Photograph permission forms will need to be collected by each individual school.
